With only a month after Soulcalibur 4's debut into the American market, it enjoys an upswell of positive reviews and healthy sales. However in this latest installment, Namco breaks the Soulcalibur tradition by adding the iconic Darth Vader, Yoda, and the Apprentice as selectable and playable characters, seducing an unlikely market to the much saluted fighting series. While it's old news that Darth Vader was a PS3 exclusive, while Yoda on the Xbox 360, I couldn't resist the lolz I got from all the scarlet craters of pain and the black abysses kids were wah-wah'ing about, especially when someone from ve3tro reported the possibility of Vader being downloadable content on the 360, or at least being on the disc to be unlocked at a later date. The sample comments herein are from the Ve3tro article, and most of the angst comes from confusion and the failure to confirm the presence of the dark side on the 360 version of Soulcalibur 4:
The doubts came first.

Free? Yeah right. It wouldn’t be the right thing to do.
Then came the onslaught of nagging.

By tim on Aug 9, 2008Sun Tzu writes: "...the art of using troops is this: When ten to the enemy's one, surround him; When five times his strength, attack him; If double his strength, divide him..."
how do you hack into the game and get him
By Tony on Aug 12, 2008
To get Darth Vadar you have to buy him in the marketplace on 360.
Then came the whining.

This limiting characters to certain platforms is such a load of bullcrap! Nothing more to say then it feels like we’re being punished by the games developers. Up yours SOULCALIBUR!
And even more whining.

How do I explain to my five year old autistic son that he has been lied to by the game manufacture? Shouldn’t the commercial say that you cant use Vader on the 360? Well it looks like I have to go out and buy a PS3 or watch my son stress out trying to unlock Vader. Somebody should find Bill Gates and kick him in the nuts for allowing this. Microsoft shouldn’t have aloud the game on their system with this crap.
Until it all seemed like a perfectly orchestrated symphony of pure wahhhhhhhh.

By john on Aug 15, 2008I assume Vader will be unlockable somehow in the near future. But rather than wait, why not whine and prattle about it now? Wehhhhh!
