F-15 Goes Stealthy, Kind Of

Boeing unveiled a protoype of their F-15SE, Silent Eagle a few weeks back. This is being advertised as being a more affordable stealth fighter to other countries. With the JSF program steadily becoming more expensive, and countries wanting a stealth aircraft, the F-15SE aims to appeal, being stealthy for a fraction of the cost.

It looks neat, has internal weapon bays, and the dead give away being the vertical stabilizers. It's unknown if the USAF at this point will go for it.

If anything I like the way it looks, always liked the Strike Eagle and this looks like the next step in it's evolution. Add the uprated F100 PW-220's from the F-15K Slam Eagle, with the multi dimensional thrust vectoring engines of the ACTIV, and you have something superior to the Golden Eagle(F-15C w/AESA & helmet mounted cue system)/.

Also attached is an abandoned F-15 design, called the F-15 MANX. This tail-less configuration was probably inspired by the YF-23 ruddervators(Mcdonnel Douglas worked on both planes, and has since merged with Boeing). It was also a stealthy design with thrust vectoring.
